Brendan McCarthy has worked in the comics industry for over 30 years. His debut Sometime Stories was released in 1977 was followed by a punk rock comic strip The Electrick Hoax for UK music paper Sounds.

He went on to produce comics for British sci-fi comic 2000AD and for independent publishers in the US, where he created a classic run of 80s comics with writer Peter Milligan, including Freakwave, Strange Days, Paradax!, Rogan Gosh and Skin.

Needing new creative challenges, Brendan moved into a successful career in movie, TV and animation design in Hollywood for a few decades.

He later returned to comics with his ‘visual autobiography’ Swimini Purpose in 2005, DC Comics’ prestigious series Solo and Spider-Man Fever for Marvel, followed by The Zaucer of Zilk, The Deleted and his latest work, Dream Gang.

Brendan is considered to be one of the most original artists in the contemporary comic book field and his unique visual and conceptual approach has influenced many of its key players.
